Raye IT is seeking a Digital Communications & Performance Analyst to support a federal agency’s Office of Legislative and Public Affairs by measuring, analyzing, and improving the performance of its digital and social media communications. This role is ideal for an analyst who is comfortable working hands-on with data, dashboards, and reporting, while also developing the ability to translate metrics into meaningful insights that inform communication and engagement strategies.

The Digital Media Analyst will focus primarily on social and digital media performance, supporting communications, media, and leadership teams with data-driven insights that help optimize outreach across platforms and audiences.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, track, and interpret digital and social media metrics aligned with communication and engagement goals.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rate, reach, impressions, click-through rate (CTR), conversion rate, sentiment, and share of voice.
  • Customize metrics and analyses by platform (e.g., X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, web).
  • Analyze performance trends over time and identify drivers of audience engagement and content effectiveness.
  • Translate raw metrics into clear insights and actionable recommendations for communications and leadership teams.
  • Create dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reports using tools such as native platform analytics, Google Analytics, Sprout, Hootsuite, Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Support evaluation of digital campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives through consistent reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with writers, editors, and digital media staff to ensure insights inform future content development and campaign planning.
  • Participate in regular meetings with program leadership and deliver required biweekly and monthly reporting.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving best practices in social media analytics, digital measurement, and audience engagement.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience analyzing digital and/or social media performance for communications, public affairs, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience defining KPIs and tracking standard digital and social media metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and performance drivers.
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports for non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics platforms and reporting tools (native or third-party).
  • Ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise evaluation and performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary communications environment.
