About the Role:
Global Health Services Corporation is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Home Care Support team in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with disabilities or special needs in a home setting
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional monitoring
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed
- Facilitate community integration, social activities, and skill-building opportunities
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and healthcare professionals regarding client well-being
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior experience in home care, direct support, or a related caregiving role preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and client-centered approach
- Ability to follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with a care team
