enterprise providing comprehensive engineering and consulting services to clients throughout the

eastern United States. R2T provides a wide range of services in civil and environmental engineering,

environmental planning and permitting, operations, and project and construction management to various

federal, state, and local agencies and municipalities. Our corporate philosophy is to help our clients

complete sustainable projects, while serving the communities where we live and work.

We are looking for an entry-level Water/Wastewater Engineer to join a growing engineering group in our

Alexandria, VA office. The Engineer will become an integral part of our team and will typically work on

municipal water/wastewater pipeline and treatment process engineering related tasks associated with all

facets of water, wastewater, and storm water related projects including planning, design, and construction

management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare engineering-related calculations and assist in the development of drawings and visual aids.

• Develop plans and designs for water treatment, storage and distribution systems.

• Develop plans and designs for wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems.

• Create and review investigation reports, technical specifications and technical memos.

• Develop alternatives analyses and design reports for pipeline and treatment plant infrastructure

projects.

• Conduct on-site inspection/investigations including survey and documentation of client/facility

issues and solutions. Assists in developing reports of investigative findings, repair drawings and

specifications as required.

• Research and develop technical solutions to address challenges associated with water, wastewater,

and storm water related facilities.

• Review and respond to product submittals and requests for information for construction projects.

• Provide asset management support, including for capital planning and master planning activities.

• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Minimum Requirements:

• 0-2 years of experience in the engineering and consulting industry

• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field is required.

• Proficiency in CAD based software is required.

• Proficient with MS Office Suite.

• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely through written and oral communication.

• Ability to multi-task and be flexible, along with the ability to adapt to project deadlines.

• Team player, a professional who is eager to collaborate and communicate with project team

members. Must have ability to interface with other disciplines.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT)

• Degree emphasis on water

• Civil 3D and Revit experience

• Valid driver’s license. Position may require travel to job sites as necessary.


This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Alexandria, VA. The selected

candidate must be available to work in Alexandria on a scheduled basis.
