SAIC is seeking a Hypersonics Systems Engineer  to join our team of qualified, diverse, and highly motivated individuals supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)).  The qualified candidate will provide engineering and analytical support related to emerging hypersonics technologies within academia, industry, and the DoW R&E enterprise.   The position is hybrid with onsite work in Alexandria, VA.

 

Job Description:

  • Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoW's R&E program.
  • Support meetings with both the Hypersonics and Advanced Materials Principal Directors and staff.
  • Conduct technology research analysis for future warfighting constructs with these technologies.
  • Provide programmatic expertise to the Government from system concept definition through technology transfer activities.
  • Provide programmatic expertise to the Government regarding gaps in development and applications of technologies to DoW capabilities.
  • Represent USW R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
  • Manage the industrial base assessments related to their specific technology area to identify risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between organizations, SMEs, and innovation base working on their technology areas to identify risks and opportunities. The contractor establishes and implements risk mitigation actions and exploit opportunities to promote the technology and innovation base.
