Position Overview

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company specializing in commercial interior systems and specialty construction services. They are seeking a Project Manager to oversee drywall and interior construction projects from preconstruction through completion.

Position Summary

The Project Manager – Drywall Division is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of production including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and scheduling to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise in drywall construction, and the ability to manage multiple project components simultaneously while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and actively manage contract documents and project requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Oversee procurement of labor, materials, equipment, and services to meet project timelines
  • Manage submittals, shop drawings, samples, and ensure timely client approvals
  • Track materials and fabrication schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Develop, maintain, and report on project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reports
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to improve project profitability
  • Lead project meetings and represent the company in all external project communications
  • Ensure timely submission and management of change orders and contract notices
  • Manage billing cycles, schedule of values, and payment applications to avoid underbilling
  • Drive safety culture and enforce quality control standards on all projects
  • Mentor team members and support professional development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Support business development and recruiting efforts through industry relationships

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of drywall project management experience
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and project documentation
  • Proficiency in reading plans, specifications, and construction drawings
  • Experience with estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff / QuickBid preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with project management software (Procore, Autodesk Build preferred)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have reliable transportation for job site travel
  • Ability to sit, stand, and manage field/site coordination for extended periods
  • Spanish fluency is a plus
