Registered Nurse Fellow (RN) Emergency Department

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse who is interested in transitioning to the ED specialty to participate in our Fellowship program that begins November 9th, 2026. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on and relocation bonuses. 

Full-Time, Mid Shifts Swing shift (1pm-1am & 3pm-3am). During orientation may rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

ER Nurse Fellow Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Experienced behavioral health nurses and Overflow unit assist the team in caring for non-emergency patients
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting. 
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through American Heart Association requiredn 
• Proficient in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred candidates will possess 2 years of critical care experience. 
• CEN/ACLS certification desired
