What You'll Do
- Perform substantive editing and verify technical accuracy, references, facts, copyright permissions, and alignment with agency standards.
- Turn engineering methods, datasets, analyses, schematics, and findings into authoritative content for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the public.
- Apply the GPO Style Manual consistently across publications.
- Manage schedules, review cycles, quality control, and team assignments with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical editing experience, including supervisory and project management responsibilities.
- Strong command of the GPO Style Manual and complex technical documentation.
- Ability to edit science-based transportation content; highway or surface transportation experience preferred.
- Must be located in the DC Metro area
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a Public Trust Clearance and Background Check
Education
Master's degree in English, Journalism, or a technical field.Â
