Hours/Schedule

Monday - Friday

  • 6:00am-2:30pm
  • 8:00am-4:30pm
  • 10:00am-6:30pm

Saturday - Sunday

  • 6:00AM to 2:30PM every 5-6 weekends

Holiday

  • 6:00AM to 2:30PM 
  • One holiday a year is required 

Position Objective

The Sterile Processing Technician performs sterilization, assembly, and storage or medical supplies and equipment. They maintain recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilization of surgical instruments. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards
  • Collaborate with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform service-specific responsibilities: including collaboration with Surgical Services Support Manager and Director of Surgical Services to provide services specific to instrumentation, supplies, and equipment

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
  • Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to stand/walk a majority of the day 
  • Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures as they relate to the cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of trays to all the units of the hospital
