About the Job Â
The YMCA Alexandria is looking for a male facility housekeeping staff to assist the chief engineer in maintenance and cleanliness in the men's locker room and around the building.  Are you organized, proactive and have a keen eye for details? Then the facility housekeeping technician position is for you.  The YMCA facility housekeeping team set the stage for exceptional service by keeping the Y facility clean and inviting. Â
Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Facility Housekeeping Technician include but are not limited to:Â
- Keeps assigned areas including (men's locker room) clean and clear for all YMCA participants
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, and moppingÂ
- Assists in set-up for meetings and/or special events
- Monitor and maintain cleaning: storage rooms, offices, kitchen, bathrooms
- Assist with laundry functions as needed
- Respond to accidents, spills, and other housekeeping emergencies
Schedule:
- Sunday -Â Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Qualifications and Skills:Â
- High school diploma or GED
- One-year relevant experience
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of performance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, buffers, etc.)
- Knowledge of cleaning chemical capabilities, mixing proportions and use
- knowledge in maintenance and care of finished surfaces
