Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is hiring a Service Electrician for work throughout Northern Virginia (NOVA). We work in two main environments: Commercial and Government. You’ll handle maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and installation of electrical and lighting systems for customers who expect results.
SERVICE ELECTRICIAN – NOVA (Northern Virginia)

What you’ll do:
- Troubleshoot electrical and lighting issues and fix them correctly the first time
- Install new wiring, devices, circuits, controls, and related components
- Perform service calls, repairs, upgrades, and small installs
- Read and work from blueprints, schematics, specs, and job directions
- Complete daily job tickets with accuracy and timeliness
- Perform DVIR/JHA daily and follow all safety requirements
- Participate in scheduled emergency/on-call service as assigned
- Operate lifts/bucket equipment (or train into it)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (non-negotiable):
- Current driver’s license
- Must have or obtain a DOT card
- High school graduate / GED / equivalent training
- Journeyman’s license (not signed into a J-card)
- Proof of completed 4–5 year apprenticeship program
- 5+ years electrical experience
- Must be willing to comply with scheduled emergency service
- Strong troubleshooting ability
- Bucket experience or willingness to be trained
- Experience completing daily job tickets
- Required to do DVIR/JHA daily
SKILLS:
- Positively identify conductor colors
- Read blueprints and schematics
- Use all standard power tools
- Dig trenches and use hand tools/power equipment comfortably
- Practice safe work procedures per company policies (Safety Handbook, Haz-Com, LOTO)
- Operate two-handed tools (cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers)
- Drive company trucks (manual and automatic transmissions)
- Read and interpret maps, manuals, specs, site directions, and written instructions
- Work from personal lifts (gas or electric)
- Operate trenchers, backhoes, and lift trucks safely (if qualified)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Able to work 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
- Overtime and night shifts as required
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
- Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Lift 51 pounds
- Climb ladders of all types
- Complete overhead work for full day assignments
- Good vision (normal or corrected)
