Job Summary:

Inventory Control Associate is responsible for assisting in managing and maintaining records relating to plant production.  This individual will also maintain department records for inventory, yields, tracking, shipping and receiving orders.  This position will work with plant staff, accounting, logistics and customer service personnel.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Contributes to and follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of inventory activities and other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Maintain ingredients and material in a First In First Out basis (FIFO)
  • Maintains files for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Physical inventory counts and cycle count workloads when needed.
  • Review and completion of production batches
  • Works with Quality to maintain good traceability on all production documentation for audit purposes.
  • Adheres to company GMP’s (good manufacturing practices), safety procedures and all other quality processes.
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education:

A degree is preferred but not required.

Experience:

One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices is beneficial. Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills.  Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change by participating in plant daily management systems.   Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint software, and be proficient with MS Excel software. Experience with Oracle is beneficial.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Approximately; 60% of work is performed in an office environment.  40% of work may involve being in the agricultural or manufacturing environment.
