THE JOB:

As a Pastry Cook at The Cosmopolitan, you will be responsible for the preparing and serving desserts. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING RATE: $23.8507 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Follow the methods of food preparation, baking method and techniques to properly prepare and serve desserts as instructed by the Chef

  • Set-up and operate the workstation based on pars established by the Chef and follow station set-up organization

  • Ensure food is stored and kept at proper holding temperatures through the use and reading of thermometers

  • List the preparations that should be completed for each day the night before

  • Monitor consistency of quality, presentation and flavor of each dish

  • Assemble recipes without assistance

  • Communicate problems to the Sous Chef

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the work area, utensils and equipment


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • 2+ years of prior relevant Pastry experience in a pastry department preferred

  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
