YOUR ROLE

 

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist will be responsible for owning all accounts payable and payable-related processes for GivePower and its international subsidiaries, including Colombia, Kenya, Tanzania and Haiti.

 

This role is critical to maintaining strong internal controls, timely and accurate payments, and clear communication across departments and geographies. The AP Specialist will work closely with Finance, Operations, and international team members in a fast-paced, growing nonprofit environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own and process all accounts payable, including vendor invoices, bill payments, and payment runs as well as assist with cash management
  • Manage RAMP corporate credit card transactions, including review, coding, and reconciliation
  • Process employee reimbursements through Zoho and ensure proper documentation and approvals
  • Administer ApprovalMax workflows, ensuring invoices and reimbursements are properly approved and documented
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card accounts on a routine basis
  • Perform basic general ledger reconciliations related to AP, cash, and prepaid expenses
  • Assist with petty cash controls and tracking, including international locations
  • Work closely with international employees and vendors, supporting payments across multiple countries and currencies
  • Proactively communicate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues, discrepancies, or delays
  • Complete end of year 1099s and donation tax receipts


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Required Skills:
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high transaction volume
  • Experience with expense management systems, credit card platforms, and approval workflows (e.g., Ramp, Zoho, ApprovalMax or similar)
  • Comfortable working with international employees, vendors, and time zones
  • Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies independently
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build positive working relationships
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to meet deadlines in a remote environment
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
  • Exposure to multi-entity or international accounting
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems supporting AP automation
