Business Development Regional Sales Manager – Meat Packing / Slaughter responsibility for onsite in-plant interaction with key plant stakeholders, on-site product training, application and sharpening consultation. Ensuring the reporting of activation metric leads to improved yields, employee satisfaction and user cost savings. Also, will ensure that the Victorinox sales strategy is implemented while successfully prospecting and developing processing and slaughter accounts to promote and increase penetration of the Victorinox product offering in the processing market, including but not limited to; beef, pork, poultry, game, commercial fishing. 

Primary Responsibilities:

 In-Plant Activations:

  • Responsible for pre visit communications with plant management regarding employee knife usage and activity, confirmation on product currently in use and inventory, accuracy of usage forecast, sharpening system in place, setting in person meetings with stakeholders, confirming samples / purchase order of Victorinox product is onsite prior to plant activation visit.
  • Responsible for onsite in-plant interaction with key plant stakeholders, on-site product training, application and sharpening consultation. 
  • Present target specific information and presentations to plant management, trainers, shift supervisors, line leaders, knife room employees, finance team, procurement team.
  • Audit the sharpening system/service model and ensure longevity of the knives and correct usage of sharpening and sharpness testing equipment
  • Through observation and engagement ensure employee adoption and acceptance of Victorinox product
  • “Train the trainers” using all available appropriate sales support tools. Provide Victorinox “certification” to participating plant trainers
  • Gather and share information needed for Victorinox product and marketing repositories
  • Ensuring the proper reporting of all activation metrics leading to improved yields, fewer knife sharpenings, consolidation of knives where possible, less knives purchased when compared to competitive product, better employee health and satisfaction and user overall cost savings

 Sales:

  • Primary responsibilities are engagement with processing headquarter accounts and top line sales growth through their management of their assigned distributor and end user accounts in the assigned territory
  • The management, growth, and development of assigned territories and accounts while meeting and exceeding budgeted goals and driving to meet assigned region, division and company Ambition.
  • Sales responsibility will be in the defined meat processing, slaughter and commercial fishing markets.
  • Develop relationships at all levels with assigned processor headquarters, distributor and plant level customers.
  • Regular interaction with other functional team members – product, sales operations, marketing, customer service, finance.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the processing industry at national or regional level
  • A high degree of organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – both internal and external
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to travel 60 – 70% 
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a PLUS
