General Position Description
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective healthcare customers. As the first point of contact for many organizations, this role plays a critical part in driving revenue growth by building relationships with key decision-makers and creating a strong sales pipeline for the Account Executive team.
The Business Development Representative will execute strategic outbound prospecting campaigns, qualify inbound marketing leads, research target healthcare organizations, and collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing to support PAR's growth objectives. This position is ideal for a highly motivated, results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys connecting with prospective customers.
Business Development & Prospecting
- Prospect into target healthcare organizations through outbound calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and other sales engagement channels.
- Research prospective accounts and identify key decision-makers within hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare organizations.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities by effectively communicating PAR's value proposition.
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective customers.
Lead Qualification & Sales Support
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads to identify customer needs and sales potential.
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives.
- Ensure a seamless handoff of qualified opportunities by documenting relevant prospect information.
- Consistently achieve established activity, pipeline generation, and meeting-setting goals.
Collaboration & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate prospect activity, pipeline updates, and customer information within the CRM.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support lead generation campaigns, messaging, and target account strategies.
- Participate in sales meetings, product training, trade shows, and other business development initiatives as needed.
- Generate new quotes to support prospective and existing customer opportunities.
- Assist the sales team with contract reporting, including identifying accounts and contracts approaching renewal.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable performing high-volume outbound prospecting and handling customer objections.
- Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar systems.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative sales team.
Required Education, Credentials and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, or a related customer-facing role.
