We are seeking a CAD Designer to join our design team supporting the development of Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) blanket systems. This role is ideal for candidates with strong spatial visualization skills and experience translating 3D designs into accurate 2D flat patterns for fabrication and production.

This is not an engineering role. We are looking for a detail-oriented designer with hands-on CAD experience, strong pattern development capabilities, and an interest in working within a high-performance manufacturing environment. Candidates with Creo experience, technical design backgrounds, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency are encouraged to apply.

This position operates with direct mentorship and structured guidance while building technical proficiency and familiarity with company design standards.

What You'll Do

  • Create and modify 3D CAD models in Creo based on design inputs and engineering guidance.
  • Translate 3D models into accurate 2D flat patterns for fabrication and production.
  • Develop detailed drawings and supporting documentation for manufacturing.
  • Assist with configuration updates, drawing revisions, and production layout preparation.
  • Maintain organized CAD files and adhere to established revision control and naming conventions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
  • Support internal design reviews and incorporate feedback into revisions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CAD templates and workflow processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in CAD design, drafting, industrial design, technical design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical environment.
  • Experience using Creo preferred; equivalent experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms will be considered.
  • Creo certification or demonstrated CAD competency may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Strong ability to conceptualize 3D forms and translate them into accurate 2D flat patterns.
  • High attention to detail with strong visual-spatial and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Windchill PLM preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
