What will you do?Â
The Chiller / HVAC Product Engineer, you will be a member of our product development team working on new product development and sustaining chiller products. The Chiller Product Engineer will support the manufacturing and sustaining of the product including initiating and executing design changes. This role requires to work with the manufacturing plants to develop assembly processes, improvements, design of manufacturability, VAVE. All of these tasks also require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, product management, manufacturing.
How will you do it?Â
Proficient in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.Â
Work with the design and manufacturing teams in generating layout concepts and system configurations that consider the best balance of cost, performance, and reliability.Â
Supports processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs;Â Â
Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues.Â
Investigate continuous improvement with regards uptime optimization, improve TAKT time etc.Â
Coordinates new product development and cost reduction activities.Â
Provides technical assistance to the plant including Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, and Safety.Â
Supports Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing.Â
Supports Capacity Planning, TPM, and Cost Estimating.Â
Investigates and analyzes product design requirements and recommends optimum solutions.Â
Learns and applies regulatory codes such as UL, ASME, CE, and PED.Â
Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development and process environment.Â
Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to fluid, thermal, and other mechanical aspects of Chillers. Â
Domestic and international travel (up to 20%) as needed.Â
What are we looking for? Â
BS in Engineering. (Mechanical Engineering preferred)Â Â Â
Strong background in HVAC (Chillers preferred) / Thermal Engineering.Â
5-7 years of applicable experience including 2- 3 years' experience of progressive, hands-on manufacturing engineering experience. (Preferred)Â
Experience with product development and sustaining of configurable systems.
Previous experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required. Â
