Role Summary

Lifepro is building a connected fitness ecosystem powered by Tuya and the Copilot/Star platform. This role is the iOS specialist on a two-person mobile development team. You bring deep iOS native expertise and work fluidly across platforms using Flutter and React Native. You are the person the team depends on when iOS-specific hardware behavior, BLE provisioning, or platform-level debugging cannot be solved generically.

AI-assisted development is a core expectation of this role, not a nice-to-have. You are expected to use AI tools to scaffold, accelerate, and review code — and to apply critical judgment to every line of AI-generated output before it reaches production.

What You’ll Do

Build & Integration

• Build and maintain the Lifepro mobile application using Flutter and/or React Native as the primary cross-platform framework
• Integrate the Tuya SDK for device pairing, device control, status reporting, and OTA firmware updates
• Integrate with the Copilot/Star backend platform APIs for data sync, cloud features, and future AI-driven capabilities
• Own native-level iOS implementation when required — BLE connectivity, platform permissions, push notifications, and device-specific hardware behavior

AI-Assisted Development

• Write production-ready code using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or equivalent) as a first step, followed by manual review and quality validation
• Use AI tools to scaffold features, generate boilerplate, and accelerate first drafts of complex logic
• Critically evaluate AI output: check for correctness, security, edge cases, and platform-specific behavior before merging
• Know when not to trust AI output — particularly around hardware interfaces, BLE timing, and SDK-specific behavior

Collaboration & Process

• Collaborate with the UX designer to implement flows and screens faithfully, flagging technical constraints early in the design cycle
• Support QA with reproducible build artifacts, debug logs, and timely bug resolution
• Participate in sprint planning, provide task estimates, and flag blockers to the Technical PM proactively
• Maintain code documentation standards to allow handoff between the Android and iOS specialists when native issues arise

Who You Are

• You ship production features in both Flutter (Dart) and React Native (TypeScript/JavaScript)
• You have Swift at a native level with deep UIKit / SwiftUI expertise
• You have working knowledge of Kotlin / Android (plus)
• You have Tuya Smart App SDK or comparable IoT SDK integration experience — BLE provisioning, MQTT, device control panels
• You are comfortable with REST API integration, JSON handling, and WebSocket or MQTT real-time data streams
• You demonstrate an AI-assisted development workflow where AI generates code and you critically review, refactor, and validate output
• You practice disciplined Git version control, branch strategy, and code review
• You have experience with physical device testing across multiple hardware configurations
• You have App Store submission and review experience
• Nice to have: Tuya MiniApp or Copilot/Star platform API experience, BLE GATT protocol and fitness device data formats, shipping IoT or connected hardware companion apps, and fitness / health / wearable tech backgrounds

Success Metrics

• Sprint features delivered on schedule with no regression against prior builds
• Zero production BLE / platform-specific defects attributable to missed native review
• AI-assisted development workflow demonstrated and documented within 30 days of hire
• Code review participation rate above 90% of team pull requests

Cross-Functional Relationships

• Technical PM — IoT: Daily coordination on task status, blockers, and build delivery
• Android Specialist: Peer code review, cross-platform consistency, native handoff when issues cross platforms
• UX/UI Designer: Implementation fidelity, early design constraint flagging, in-sprint design questions
• QA Engineer: Build artifacts, debug log support, bug resolution within sprint SLAs
• Product Development Leadership: Quarterly performance review and platform upgrade assessments

• Sprint retrospective
• Tech debt review and prioritization
• Documentation update for handoff readiness

Quarterly

• Platform upgrade assessment (OS, SDK, framework versions)
• AI tooling review — prompts, agents, and workflow refinement
• Performance review with the Technical PM
