General Purpose of Job: 

The Director, CPG Insights & Strategy is responsible for delivering data-driven insights that support revenue growth across Quad's In-Store Connect retail media network. This individual will work closely with Sales Directors, Retailer Partners, Marketing, Product, and Measurement teams to identify opportunities, develop strategic sales recommendations, create advertiser-facing insights, and demonstrate campaign effectiveness.

 

The role serves as a trusted advisor to the sales organization by helping CPG brands understand category dynamics, shopper behavior, retailer opportunities, and the measurable impact of In-Store Connect media investments.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Sales Directors to develop data-driven sales strategies for CPG advertisers.

  • Build prospect-specific opportunity assessments, business cases, and category reviews.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities across retailer partners, brands, and product categories.
  • Support annual planning, pipeline development, account reviews, and growth initiatives.
  • Develop compelling sales presentations that translate insights into advertiser value.
  • Analyze category performance, shopper trends, retailer sales data, and market dynamics.
  • Deliver actionable insights regarding consumer behavior, promotional effectiveness, and purchase patterns.
  • Identify growth opportunities for brands based on retailer, shopper, and campaign data.
  • Monitor industry trends across retail media, grocery, and CPG sectors.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness using sales lift, basket lift, customer acquisition, audience engagement, and other key performance indicators.
  • Develop advertiser-facing performance recaps and business reviews.
  • Identify optimization opportunities that improve campaign performance and ROI.
  • Partner with measurement and analytics teams to ensure consistent reporting methodologies. In-Store Connect campaigns are designed to provide attribution tied to sales outcomes and shopper actions. 
  • Support development of retailer-specific and advertiser-specific media recommendations.
  • Help align media strategies with CPG brand objectives, category goals, and retailer priorities.
  • Assist in packaging inventory, audience opportunities, and measurement capabilities into compelling advertiser solutions.
  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to communicate market needs and client feedback.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, concise, executive-level storytelling.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Create scorecards, business reviews, and quarterly performance summaries.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on retail media analytics, category performance, and shopper insights.

     

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field.

 

Experience: 

  • 10+ years of experience in CPG, retail media, category management, sales analytics, shopper marketing, business intelligence, or related disciplines.

  • Experience working with syndicated data sources (Circana/IRI, NielsenIQ, SymphonyAI, Numerator, etc.).
  • Experience supporting sales organizations with strategic insights and analytics

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience within grocery, retail media networks, shopper marketing, or omnichannel media.
  • Experience supporting national CPG advertisers.
  • Knowledge of retail media measurement, attribution, and sales lift methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL, advanced analytics tools, or data visualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with advertising performance metrics.

 

  • Employees can be expected to be paid an annualized salary range of $125,000-$150,000 + bonus, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
