The Instructional Designer / Developer is responsible for analyzing learning needs and designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high‑impact training solutions aligned with business objectives and organizational strategy. This role partners with L&D Managers, Business Partners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create effective learning experiences that support onboarding, systems enablement, role‑based training, and continuous skill development.

The role applies adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM), and modern learning technologies to deliver training across eLearning, instructor‑led, virtual, blended, and microlearning formats. The position supports learning related to enterprise systems, business platforms, AI-enabled tools, and renewable energy/solar operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct learning needs analysis and translating business requirements and performance gaps into measurable learningobjectives.
  • Design, develop, andmaintaininstructional content including:
  • eLearning modules
  • Instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training (ILT/VILT)
  • Blended learning programs
  • Microlearning
  • Simulations and scenario-based learning
  • Job aids and performance support tools
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, accessibility standards, and usability guidelines.
  • Develop structured curricula, learning paths, and certification programs aligned to job roles and systems.

Systems, Platform & Technical Enablement

  • Design and develop training related to enterprise and business systems, including but not limited to:
  • Salesforce (CRM, sales processes, reporting)
  • NetSuite (ERP, finance, operations, inventory)
  • BigCommerce or similar eCommerce platforms
  • Asana (project and work management)
  • Lucid (Lucid chart for process mapping and collaboration)
  • AI-driven tools and workflows
  • Translate technical, system-based, and process-driven content into engaging, learner-centered training materials.
  • Support learning initiatives related to renewable energy and solar industry knowledge, products, operations, and customer-facing processes.

Learning Technology & Innovation

  • Leverage modern learning technologies, interactive media, and digital learning tools to enhance learner engagement.
  • Incorporate innovative approaches such as:
  • Scenario-based learning
  • Gamification
  • Social learning
  • Adaptive or AI-supported learning experiences
  • Evaluate and pilot new authoring tools, platforms, and technologies to improve learning effectiveness and scalability.
  • Update and modernize legacy content tomaintainaccuracy, relevance, and alignment with system or process changes.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with L&D Managers, Business Partners, SMEs, and Technology teams to define learning scope, outcomes, and timelines.
  • Collaborate on priorities, standards, quality assurance, and governance.
  • Work with LMS and governance and delivery teams to ensure proper implementation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Incorporate stakeholder and learner feedback into continuous curriculum improvements.

Quality Assurance & Evaluation

  • Perform functional testing, content reviews, and peer reviews to ensure instructional accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze learner feedback, assessment results, and performance data to evaluate learning effectiveness.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and instructional design artifacts.
  • Ensure compliance with instructional design standards, branding, and accessibility requirements.
  • All other dutiesassigned.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, ora related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory.
  • Hands-on experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, or similar).
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning standards (SCORM,xAPI).
  • Experience designing training for enterprise systems, software platforms, or technical processes.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and visual design skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or relatedfield.
  • 3–5 years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development.
  • Proficiencyin instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning theory.
  • Strong skills with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) and graphic/multimedia tools.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and SCORM/xAPIstandards.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual design skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in renewable energy, solar, technology, or operations-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, eCommerce, or project management systems.
  • Experience using AI tools to support content development or learning design.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, systems enablement, or role-based curricula.
