Reports To: Senior Sales Leader (SSL)

Status: Full time Exempt


Position Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for supporting the growth, retention, and development of referral relationships within an assigned mature territory. This role will work closely with the Senior Sales Leader (SSL) to maintain existing accounts, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, and drive referral growth. The Account Manager will receive hands-on training and mentorship from SSL while progressively assuming responsibility for designated accounts and business development activities as identified by the SSL.

This position is designed to prepare the Account Manager for increased sales responsibility through direct customer engagement, account management, and strategic territory development.

Essential Responsibilities:

Account Maintenance and Relationship Management

  • Partner with SSL to support and maintain existing referral sources within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct regular account visits to strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and act as a liaison between referral sources and internal operational teams.
  • Assist with issue resolution, patient referral follow-up, and customer communication to ensure a positive experience.
  • Participate in customer educational programs, lunches, and events as directed.

Training and Professional Development

  • Complete structured onboarding and territory training under the guidance of the SSL.
  • Develop knowledge of specialty pharmacy services, disease states, payer processes, and competitive market dynamics. 
  • Meet and understand roles of internal team. 
  • Attend company meetings, training sessions, and educational programs.
  • Demonstrate increasing independence in territory management and account development.


Territory Development

  • Manage a portfolio of assigned accounts identified by SSL and sales leadership.
  • Develop and execute account plans to increase referrals and expand market share.
  • Identify new referral opportunities within assigned accounts and targeted prospects.
  • Track customer activity, opportunities, and outcomes using the company’s CRM platform.
  • Collaborate with clinical, reimbursement, intake, and operations teams to support referral growth initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of account management or related sales experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities and manage multiple accounts effectively.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
