Job Description- Lead Piping Designer

  • Position Title: Lead Piping Designer
  • Company: KBR Corporate - In-house Engineering
  • Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Purpose

  • Execute piping design activities within Concept, FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detail Engineering for Oil & Gas projects.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of Piping design and related deliverables in accordance with project requirements, international codes, and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams and clients.
Key Job Responsibilities

  • Independently perform the Piping design scope drawings for Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering phases.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and project specifications.
  • Ensure engineering integrity, quality assurance and document control for all Piping related deliverables.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, toolbox talks, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support field execution and construction activities as needed, including site visits when required and as-built documentation.
  • Independently developing complex piping designs, equipment layouts, plot plans, and general arrangement drawings. They utilize advanced 3D modeling software like E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD to create detailed models and generate isometric drawings.
  • Conducting site visits to verify / collect field data and assess project conditions.
  • Review and provide comments on vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with the overall design.
Experience

  • 20+ years of experience and proven track record in delivering onshore and Offshore piping deliverables in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience with ADNOC, BOC, BP , Qatar Energies, TTE, PDO , KOC.
  • Highly capable and efficient in preparing (hands-on) all onshore Piping engineering drawings independently and simultaneously working on multiple projects. Owns assigned tasks with high degree of responsibility. Flexibility & adaptability to maneuver dynamic and evolving project environment.
  • Well versed with Upstream Facilities, Single and Multi-Well pads, Pipelines, Manifolds.
  • Carried out visits to Onshore and Offshore facilities
  • Carried out Brownfield projects in Onshore and offshore facilities.
  • Experience in Preparing Plot plans, Key plans, Piping GA and other Piping deliverables
  • Experience in Production Facilities, Well pads & Pipelines, CPF, Production Platforms and Gas Plants.
Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma or ITI in Piping and Mechanical Design
  • Relevant 2D and 3D software proficiency (PDMS, E3D, SP3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D)
Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards and industry applicable norms.
  • Proficient in relevant codes and standards
  • Experience with 3D design and visualization tools and 2D drafting.
