Purpose

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for acquiring, managing, and growing strategic national accounts. This role combines business development and account management responsibilities, including prospecting for new customers, leading sales efforts, supporting contract negotiations, and developing long-term partnerships that drive revenue growth and customer retention. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with strong relationship-building, negotiation, and strategic planning skills, with proven track record and experience managing similar relationships in a medical or highly regulated industry.


Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national account customers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, creating a strong relationship with key points of contact throughout the business. .
  • Conduct regular business reviews to ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth, retention, and cross-sell  opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and account support.
  • Monitor account performance and implement strategies to improve retention and profitability.
  • Prospect, identify, and develop new national account opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and market research.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Present products, services, and value propositions to executive-level decision-makers.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Drive new business acquisition with strong forecasting and data analysis capability while expanding opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Support contract negotiations and renewals in partnership with leadership, legal, and 
  • Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and account performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within CRM systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop customized solutions and account strategies.


Skills 

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write reports or business correspondence.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn various software programs Salesforce.com experience a plus.


Qualifications/Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, business development, national accounts.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing strategic accounts, including retention and cross-sales with new product launches .
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships.
  • Ability to travel
