Job Title: Payroll Manager
Pay: $85-100k/annually

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all payroll operations for our multi-site behavioral health organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple pay groups, employment types, and states. The Payroll Manager will partner closely with HR, Finance, and leadership to support employees and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and clinical staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage payroll for multi-state employees, including tax filings and regulatory compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including FLSA requirements
- Administer payroll-related benefits, deductions, garnishments, and bonuses
- Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and benefit invoices
- Partner with HR to support onboarding, offboarding, timekeeping, and compensation changes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll questions and issue resolution
- Lead payroll audits and support internal and external audit requests
- Maintain payroll documentation and ensure data integrity within HRIS/payroll systems
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including payroll management or leadership responsibilities (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state payroll and complex pay structures
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards
- Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, UKG, Workday, Kronos, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
