Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: To provide general support for the Office of the Chaplaincy by assisting with promotion, publicity, planning and implementation of Chaplaincy programming.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a marketing calendar and create weekly social media and Instagram posts for upcoming events, services, and programs.
  • Assemble and assist in writing the Chaplaincy Newsletter
  • Create and post engaging content on social media pages to promote the Office of the Chaplaincy and sponsored events
  • Design and post flyers, d-flyers, invitations, e-mails, signs, and information sheets for upcoming events, programs, and services.
  • Assist with on-campus errands and projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to Chaplaincy staff, students, and visitors to the office.
  • Provide front office coverage once a week, if schedule allows
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications include:

  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of faith and spiritual traditions.
  • Must have the ability to handle confidential information and situations in a discreet manner.
  • Must possess strong typing skills, proficiency with computers and MS office programs, Google Suite programs, and familiarity with Canva.
  • Previous engagement with Chaplaincy programming and events preferred.
  • Must possess good customer service skills (phone, email, and in-person).
  • Should have good problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines as assigned.
  • Attention to detail and high level of organization
  • Ability to balance and prioritize a high volume of departmental tasks with customer service-related work
  • Ability to work 5 hours maximum per week; additional hours are available on an occasional basis.
