About Mine Vision Systems & The Opportunity

Mine Vision Systems is building the Mine Intelligence Platform for underground mining — the data foundation that turns real-time operational data into safer, more predictable, more productive mines. FaceCapture, our flagship product, is already live and trusted by the world's top underground operators, including Agnico Eagle, Sibanye Stillwater, OceanaGold, South32, Hecla, and Coeur Mining — and we are now launching the Mine Intelligence Platform itself, extending that same face data into a full application layer across mine planning, geology, and reconciliation. Our customers see 7-figure operational impact within 12 months.

We launched FaceCapture in 2023 and are now in rapid growth — this is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to build a sales career inside a company solving one of underground mining's most persistent problems, at the exact moment the industry is ready to solve it. Deal sizes are growing, accounts are global and multi-site, and compensation upside for top performers is real. MVS was built out of Carnegie Mellon's robotics research to solve real problems in mining that deliver true impact — the team is growing, talented, and deeply committed to what we're building. If you want to sell technology that makes mines safer and more productive, not another incremental SaaS feature, keep reading.

Role Summary

As an Account Executive at MVS, you will own new business growth across a defined territory of underground critical minerals and precious-metals mining operations. You will sell FaceCapture and the MVS Intelligence platform directly to mining operations leaders, geology teams, and technical services groups, translating real-time 3D face-scanning data into measurable value for mine planning and reconciliation. This role is quota-carrying and self-directed; it prioritizes disciplined discovery, executive relationship-building, and a self-sufficient prospecting engine over reliance on inbound pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and exceed a quarterly and annual quota across a defined book of enterprise mining accounts, building and managing a self-sourced pipeline from first outreach through close.
  • Run disciplined discovery with mining engineers, geologists, and operations leaders; uncover pain in underground workflows before presenting any solution.
  • Engage and build trust with VP-level and C-suite buyers, translating FaceCapture and the Mine Intelligence platform vision into strategic operational and financial outcomes.
  • Prospect proactively into target mining accounts and build relationships with ecosystem partners (e.g. Deswik, Maptek, Datamine) for integration and channel opportunities.
  • Navigate complex, technical enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, procurement processes, and site-level validation.
  • Partner with Field Operations and Product to align deal commitments with deployment realities and to feed customer insight back into the roadmap.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in Salesforce; communicate deal status, risk, and next steps clearly to sales leadership.
  • Represent MVS credibly in industrial, underground environments; travel to customer sites across North America, Latin America, Australia, and Africa as needed.
  • Work effectively across time zones with international mining operations and internal teams supporting them.

What Success Looks Like

  • Quota Attainment: You consistently hit or exceed quota in a complex, technical enterprise sales motion, with a track record that would stand out for Presidents Club or top-rep recognition.
  • Self-Sufficient Pipeline: Your pipeline is built primarily through your own outbound effort, not inbound handoffs, and shows consistent, disciplined prospecting activity.
  • Trusted Technical Seller: Mining engineers, geologists, and operations leaders view you as credible on their terms, and executive buyers see you as someone who connects technical capability to strategic outcomes.
  • Deal Discipline: You uncover real pain before pitching, and your deals reflect genuine discovery rather than premature presentation.
  • Global Reach: You operate effectively across geographies and time zones, closing business with international mining operations.
  • Cultural Impact: You're recognized internally as a self-starter who is comfortable working remote, eager to travel, and reliable in translating field relationships into closed revenue.

Qualifications

  • Currently selling, or with recent direct experience selling, mining technology or geospatial/survey software. Track record of consistent quota attainment in complex, technical enterprise sales; Presidents Club or top-rep recognition is a plus. This is not a first sales role.
  • Ability to engage mining engineers, geologists, and operations leaders on their own terms; experience with hardware/software platforms in industrial environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated discovery discipline: asks strong questions before presenting, and shows genuine curiosity about customer operations.
  • Comfortable and credible engaging VP-level and C-suite buyers.
  • Self-directed prospecting engine; does not wait for inbound and shows a consistent record of outbound activity in past roles.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with international mining operations in North America, Latin America, Australia, and Africa.
  • North American-based, with access to a major airport and, ideally, proximity to mining activity and to MVS peers. Central Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Sudbury), Denver, Minneapolis, and Pittsburgh are preferred locations.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working remotely and is willing and eager to travel.
