Summary
Nightsea Inc. is seeking an experienced commercial leader to manage and expand strategic relationships with Amazon's Vendor and Retail organizations on behalf of its China-based headquarters. This role will lead business development, commercial negotiations, platform-resource acquisition, and cross-border execution for the company's Amazon business. The successful candidate will serve as a key bridge between Amazon stakeholders in the United States and internal Product, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Advertising, Brand, and Executive Leadership teams in China.
Key Responsibilities
Amazon Relationship Management
- · Build and maintain long-term relationships with Amazon Vendor Managers, Category Managers, Buyers, Retail teams, and other key stakeholders.
- · Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for Amazon business planning, category development, strategic initiatives, and executive-level business reviews.
- · Maintain regular communication with Amazon regarding sales performance, product roadmaps, promotional plans, inventory health, category priorities, and growth opportunities.
- · Monitor changes in Amazon policies, commercial requirements, category strategies, and organizational structures, and communicate relevant implications and actions to internal teams.
Platform Resources and Commercial Growth
- · Proactively secure Amazon platform resources, including Coupons, Best Deals, Lightning Deals, Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, holiday campaigns, category events, merchandising placements, and special Vendor programs.
- · Lead commercial discussions with Amazon Vendor and Retail stakeholders regarding supply planning, promotional investment, pricing, margins, inventory commitments, payment arrangements, and business-development programs.
- · Negotiate favorable commercial terms, platform support, promotional opportunities, and inventory arrangements that support sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
- · Use sales data, category trends, and competitive insights to develop business cases, growth plans, and resource requests for Amazon.
- · Identify and develop new category, assortment, retail, and strategic-account opportunities.
Cross-Functional and Cross-Border Execution
- · Act as the primary liaison between U.S.-based Amazon stakeholders and Nightsea's China-based headquarters.
- · Translate Amazon requirements, commercial commitments, and strategic opportunities into clearly defined internal deliverables, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- · Lead cross-functional coordination across Product, Marketing, Brand, Advertising, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Leadership teams.
- · Manage complex initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring promotions, product launches, platform opportunities, and strategic programs are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
- · Monitor Amazon Vendor Central and Retail performance, including sales, purchase orders, inventory, in-stock levels, conversion, rankings, promotions, returns, and profitability.
- · Prepare recurring management reports covering channel performance, platform-resource acquisition, commercial negotiations, operational issues, risks, and growth opportunities.
- · Analyze competitor pricing, assortment, promotional activity, category performance, and retail positioning to support strategic planning and management decision-making.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, International Trade, E-commerce, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- · At least three years of experience in Amazon Vendor management, Amazon Retail, retail partnerships, key account management, or a related commercial function.
- · At least one year of direct, hands-on experience managing Amazon Vendor Central, Amazon 1P, or a brand-side Amazon channel.
- · Demonstrated experience working directly with Amazon Vendor Managers, Buyers, Category Managers, and other Retail stakeholders.
- · Strong working knowledge of Amazon Vendor Central processes, including purchase orders, chargebacks, co-op programs, promotions, inventory management, content management, and Retail Analytics.
- · Strong commercial negotiation, relationship management, presentation, and written communication skills.
- · Proven project management capabilities, with experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution.
- · Mandarin Chinese proficiency and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with international cross-border teams across U.S. and China time zones in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- · Previous experience as an Amazon Vendor Manager, Category Manager, Buyer, Category Assistant, or member of an Amazon Retail team.
- · Established professional relationships with Amazon Vendor Managers, Buyers, Category Managers, or other Retail stakeholders.
- · Demonstrated success securing Amazon platform resources and converting commercial opportunities into measurable revenue, profitability, or market-share growth.
- · Experience in apparel, consumer products, or other high-volume retail categories.
- · Experience managing or expanding business across Walmart, Target, or other major U.S. retail and marketplace channels.
