Technical Drafter — Product Development & FieldOperations
The Opportunity
A leading manufacturer serving the performance andentertainment industry is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead productdevelopment, technical documentation, field support, and special projects.
This is a highly visible role for someone who can movecomfortably between product design, site conditions, installation details,technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. You will helpensure products are practical, compliant, well documented, and successfullyimplemented in the field.
What You’ll Do
- Lead U.S. product-development efforts, including product construction, cost/price considerations, installation guidance, and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate product testing for safety, quality, performance, and applicable technical standards.
- Research and specify materials with an eye toward durability, sustainability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers on components and product solutions.
- Develop and maintain installation manuals, maintenance guides, technical specifications, cut sheets, standard details, and submittal materials.
- Travel to job sites to support quoting, assess installation readiness, troubleshoot field issues, and recommend next steps.
- Review complex specifications and drawings; provide technical solutions for existing and new products.
- Support key-project quoting, cost optimization, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
- Establish and maintain quality-control procedures, testing protocols, compliance records, and performance documentation.
- Coordinate special product projects, including timelines, budgets, suppliers, engineering partners, and field teams.
- Deliver internal training and continuing-education presentations for clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Support sales and marketing with accurate technical input for product data sheets, trade-show materials, and case studies.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows tied to quoting, installation, documentation, and product implementation.
What You Bring
- Technical product, systems, installation, engineering, architectural, manufacturing, or related industry experience.
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, site conditions, and technical requirements.
- Experience creating clear technical documentation, installation details, manuals, or submittal packages.
- Practical problem-solving skills and confidence working directly with field teams, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organization and project coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the United States.
