Summary
We are seeking a Vice President, Marketing & Global Brand to own Immunic's global brand strategy and marketing organization as the company prepares for the potential approval and launch of vidofludimus calcium in relapsing MS. This is a builder role for a marketer who has done this before: someone who has led a global brand through an MS launch, understands how positioning, messaging, and channel strategy need to flex across the U.S. and international markets, and can build a marketing function and team from the ground up ahead of a first commercial launch. The role sits at the center of launch planning, working in lockstep with Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory to ensure the brand strategy reflects both the science and the realities of how the therapy will actually reach patients.
Responsibilities
Develop and own Immunic's global brand strategy and positioning for vidofludimus calcium in relapsing MS, ensuring a consistent core narrative that can be adapted across U.S. and international markets
Lead brand architecture, naming, and visual identity decisions in partnership with external agencies and internal stakeholders
Translate clinical and mechanism-of-action data into a differentiated, patient- and physician-relevant brand story
Lead marketing's contribution to integrated launch planning, ensuring brand strategy, messaging, and channel plans are ready ahead of anticipated regulatory approval
Apply lessons learned from prior global MS product launches to Immunic's launch playbook, including sequencing, market prioritization, and pre-launch disease education
Build and manage the marketing budget and launch investment plan in partnership with Finance and the Chief Operating Officer
Design and build Immunic's global marketing function from the ground up, including organizational structure, headcount planning, and hiring
Select, onboard, and manage external agency partners (creative, media, market research, digital) needed to execute at launch quality with a lean internal team
Establish marketing operating processes and governance that can scale from pre-launch through commercial launch
Own healthcare provider (HCP) marketing strategy, including scientific and promotional messaging, congress presence, and field marketing support
Own patient- and caregiver-facing marketing and disease education strategy, working closely with the VP, Patient Advocacy to ensure alignment with the patient support and access strategy
Lead omnichannel and digital marketing strategy, including web, social, and non-personal promotion, appropriate to a specialty/rare disease launch
Lead global market research to inform positioning, messaging, and market prioritization decisions ahead of and following launch
Translate physician, patient, and payer insights into actionable brand and marketing strategy in partnership with Market Access and Medical Affairs
Partner closely with Market Access, Patient Advocacy, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal/Compliance to ensure marketing strategy is fully integrated into launch readiness
Represent the global brand perspective in leadership and launch readiness discussions, balancing global consistency with market-level flexibility
Coordinate with international colleagues and partners to ensure the brand strategy translates effectively outside the U.S., building on Immunic's operational roots in Germany
Qualifications & Education
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
15+ years of progressive marketing experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, with significant experience in brand and global marketing leadership roles
Direct experience leading global brand strategy and marketing through the launch of a therapy in multiple sclerosis
Proven track record building a marketing organization and brand strategy from the ground up ahead of a first commercial launch
Experience managing global or multi-market brand positioning, balancing core brand consistency with local market needs
Strong experience managing external agency partners across creative, media, digital, and market research
Demonstrated ability to translate clinical and scientific data into clear, differentiated brand positioning and messaging
Experience partnering closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Patient Advocacy functions on integrated launch strategy
Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving, pre-commercial biotech environment
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25–35% of the time, including internationally
Experience launching a therapy with a novel mechanism of action or first-in-class positioning
Existing relationships within the global MS clinical, scientific, and advocacy community
Experience operating across both U.S. and European commercial environments
Familiarity with digital and omnichannel marketing approaches specific to specialty/rare disease brands
