About Pavilion

Pavilion began as a bold experiment to solve a personal problem. In the early 2010s, founder Sam Jacobs realized that the higher he climbed in go-to-market leadership, the lonelier the journey became. Those peer conversations – equal parts therapy, strategy, and camaraderie – sparked a global community of GTM professionals united by shared learning and support.

Today, Pavilion serves nearly 10,000 members worldwide with industry-leading retention and profitability. At over $10M ARR, the brand is synonymous with excellence in GTM leadership.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead Pavilion's next era of growth—defining how we attract, engage, and retain members across their full journey.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategist with expertise in today’s growth marketing tactics, who blends creativity with discipline and understands that long-term growth depends on both attraction and retention. Demand generation expertise is central to this role: you should be someone who has personally built and run acquisition programs, not just directed them through partners. You should also be fluent in building AI-driven tools and workflows — able to speak concretely about agents or automations you've built and the measurable impact they had on a marketing team's output.

Core Responsibilities

Growth Oversight (≈30%)

  • Bring demand generation expertise directly to the table: paid, SEO, and event acquisition programs, whether run in-house or supported by agencies.
  • Manage external agencies running paid, SEO, and event campaigns, with the credibility to evaluate and challenge their strategy rather than simply relay it.
  • Maintain ROI discipline and brand alignment across acquisition programs.
  • Test and evaluate new channels to reach GTM professionals globally.

AI-Driven Enablement

  • Build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that support marketing functions — for example, content production, segmentation, campaign reporting, and/or lead scoring.
  • Bring specific, namable examples of AI tools or agents you've built in past roles, along with the business impact they had (time saved, output increased, cost reduced, etc.).
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and embed them into team workflows.

Member Lifecycle Marketing

  • Create programs that drive activation, engagement, and renewal.
  • Partner with Sales & Success on onboarding, nurture, and milestone communications.
  • Develop referral and win-back campaigns that turn satisfied members into advocates.

Brand & Communications

  • Lead Pavilion's brand presence across web, social, events, and content.
  • Oversee thought leadership, PR, and storytelling that elevate Pavilion's reputation and member value.
  • Collaborate with Education and Community teams to highlight member success and insights.

Strategy & Leadership

  • Build an integrated marketing plan that balances brand storytelling, lifecycle engagement, and scalable growth.
  • Translate Pavilion's mission into clear messaging across every touchpoint—from awareness through renewal.
  • Partner with leadership to evolve brand architecture and positioning.
  • Define and measure success across acquisition, retention, and member satisfaction.
  • Lead a small, high-performing team (3–4 people).
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and creative excellence.
  • Establish key marketing KPIs, dashboards, and optimization frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in marketing, including 3–5 in leadership within membership, community, or subscription models.
  • Demonstrated demand generation expertise — direct, hands-on experience building and running paid, SEO, or other acquisition programs, not solely managing agencies.
  • Proven success in integrated brand and lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience managing agencies or contractors for acquisition programs.
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents or AI-driven workflows for marketing use cases, with the ability to name specific tools or systems built and describe their measurable impact.
  • Strong content and communications background; comfort with analytics and budgets.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in B2B SaaS or professional development; understanding of retention tactics, event marketing, and community storytelling.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days

  • Audit demand generation and lifecycle performance.
  • Identify quick wins for engagement and retention.
  • Recommend and begin building AI tools/agents and process improvements.
  • Build alignment with leadership and member-facing teams.

First Year

  • Improved engagement, retention, and referral metrics.
  • Efficient, brand-aligned acquisition, with demonstrated hands-on demand gen contribution.
  • Clear ROI from AI agents and workflows built and deployed within the team.
  • Unified brand and communication framework.
  • Marketing positioned as a driver of both growth and member satisfaction.

Why Pavilion?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organization that prioritizes the professional growth and success of its members above all.
  • Competitive salary + performance bonus tied to acquisition, retention, and engagement
  • Stock options in a profitable, mission-driven company
  • Comprehensive health benefits and professional development budget
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work environment
  • Access to Pavilion membership and education
