Job Summary

Nature of Work:

Assist the Center Manager in the delivery of services for Families Parks and Recreation senior enrichment, after-school or summer programs, to ensure that the educational, behavioral and financial objectives of the program and the needs of the staff, youth, seniors, families and public are met. An employee in this classification performs specialized work in the area of academic, enrichment and athletic programming under the direction of the FPR and or Recreation Center Manager. Work includes helping to clean the facility and park every day. Work is reviewed for results obtained through reports, observation, performance evaluations and conferences. Responsibilities include leading and/or supervising a variety of educational and athletic activities, while ensuring the safety of an FPR/Recreation enrichment, after-school and/or summer program and facility. Work is sometimes performed outdoors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently attending high school, graduation from an high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma and some knowledge or experience in an organized educational, recreation or leisure services field working in various activities such asĀ  educational programs, youth sports, cultural and therapeutic arts, health and fitness, community centers, etc preferred; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. ApplicantĀ mustĀ possess a valid Florida driver’s license or state ID. First Aid/CPR certification preferred. Certification by the Florida Recreation and Park Association desired, but not required.Ā 

Teachers, individuals with some college or current college studentsĀ preferred.

Experience in the following areas isĀ preferred: STEM, Dance, Band, Drumline, Choir, Music Theatre, Media, Mentoring, Tutoring, Gaming, VR Gaming, Competitive Sports Leagues, Teen Focus Groups, Hair Braiding, Recording Studio, Culinary, and special events planning.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.
