The Adams State University Prison Education Program (PEP) is seeking qualified and experienced instructors to design and teach undergraduate courses for its national correspondence program serving incarcerated persons throughout the United States. These courses are delivered via printed study guides and supplemented by assigned readings. Exams will be administered by preapproved proctors, and all student work submitted through standard mail. Instructors are responsible for maintaining digital gradebooks and collaborating regularly with PEP staff to issue grades and support other administrative processes. Whenever possible instructors are encouraged to use Open Educational Resources (OER) in course development rather than traditional textbooks. Compensation includes $600 for course material development and $75/credit hour ($225 for a three-credit-hour course) for each student upon course completion. Benefits include retirement and sick leave. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in the subject of instruction or a Master’s degree in any area with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject, and college-level teaching experience. Justice-impacted individuals are strongly encouraged to apply. Adams State University is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
