The Department of Human Services at the University of the Cumberlands invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to support the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. We seek a dynamic and committed educator who will contribute to a mission-driven program focused on preparing students for competent, ethical, and service-oriented professional practice in diverse settings.The University of the Cumberlands is a faith-based institution that welcomes students from all backgrounds. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate Social Work courses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues the Department and throughout the university. 
  • Align course materials using departmental syllabus templates, required text(s), and other resources. 
  • Provide regular and timely feedback on student work. 
  • Maintain regular communication with students through virtual office hours and e-mail. 
  • Maintain clear, consistent records in Blackboard Ultra and the university’s online record keeping platform 
  • Participate in department-wide assessments. 
  • Respond to student evaluations. 
  • Follow university policies and procedures. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • At least two years of post-MSW professional social work experience.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • Commitment to social work values.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctorate in Social Work (DSW or PhD) or closely related field (ABD considered).
  • Experience teaching in online and hybrid learning environments.
