Description

As an Intern for The Pidcock Company you will assist engineers and project managers with the planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of municipal, transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects. This position provides hands-on experience in civil engineering design, field data collection, project coordination, and technical document preparation while working alongside experienced professionals to complement the academic knowledge gained during their course of study.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with civil infrastructure design projects.
  • Support grading and drainage design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Assist with stormwater management and erosion control design.
  • Help prepare plans for water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assist in preparing engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Support permitting documentation and project deliverables.
  • Participate in field visits, site investigations, and data collection as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and follow established engineering standards.
  • Perform assigned work safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles gained through coursework.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
