This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies; and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings
- Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place
- Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
- Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Protect and maintain company equipment
- Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary
- Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, following all safety regulations and manufacturer instructions
- Work in accordance with company safety procedures, including driver safety and proper use of PPE
- Respond to emergency service calls
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Education/Qualification
- A high school education or equivalent preferred
- Trade experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers or fire protection industry standards is preferred but not required.
- Troubleshooting skills
- Must be flexible with scheduling, including occasional evenings, weekends, and out-of-town assignments
- Knowledge of principles and practices of life safety
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and the ability to interpret, apply, and explain them
- Ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs
Other Duties

- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift/move heavy objects
- Requires physical abilities such as balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
Pay Rate: $20-25, plus commission.
