Role reports to the Allentown, PA site and reports to the Clinical Trials Division (CTD). CTD partners with pharmaceutical and biotech customers around the world to ensure the right patients get the right therapies in the right doses at the right time – a concept that we internally embrace as “There is a Patient Waiting.” Our outstanding blend of services includes project management, packaging, distribution, transportation management and specialty logistics, ancillary supply management, clinical supply optimization, bio-repository storage and much more. Join our team as a Calibration Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our sophisticated equipment and instruments. In this position, you'll perform calibration activities across manufacturing and storage spaces and systems. You will support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

A Day in the Life:

  • Conducting calibration, troubleshooting and repairs of instruments and equipment, and maintaining detailed documentation of all activities.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with GMP standards.

  • Support advanced instrumentation while developing expertise in calibration processes and technical problem-solving.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Associate or Technical Degree is required.

  • BS degree is preferred.

Experience

  • Experience in cGMP/FDA or other regulated environment required.

  • 3-5 years of instrument or electronic metrology experience required.

  • Experience with gas sensors, weights, scales, temperature, RH, and dp instruments and transmitters, RTD's thermocouples, pressure switches, tachometers, timers, ultrasonic level transmitters, calipers, depth gauges, torque transducers, and control valves automated manufacturing equipment is preferred. Experience with Maximo Asset Management software is preferred.

  • Experience with environmental monitoring systems and temperature mapping.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of GMP standards and quality control procedures

  • Expertise in calibration and testing of sophisticated laboratory equipment against NIST traceable standards

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make technical decisions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Physical ability to work in temperature-controlled environments (30°C to -80°C)

  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 600 lb equipment

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in team environments

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and proper PPE usage

  • Ability to develop and modify SOPs and work instructions
