Certified Veterinary Technician – Emergency Department Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center (EPVMC)

What Your Role Will Include
As a Certified Veterinary Technician in the Emergency Department, you will:
- Â Assist with triage and stabilization of incoming emergency patientsÂ
- Â Place catheters and initiate fluid therapy and emergency treatmentsÂ
- Â Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients including vital signs and pain assessment
- Â Perform and interpret in house diagnostics such as bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology preparation, and blood gas analysisÂ
-  Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures including wound management, CPR, thoracocentesis, urinary catheter placement, and bandaging •
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Â Monitor anesthesia and sedation for emergency procedures and imaging when requiredÂ
- Â Prepare patients for surgery, advanced diagnostics, or transfer to specialty departments
- Educate and communicate with clients during emergency visits regarding treatment plans and hospitalization updates
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records within our hospital information system (EzyVet)
- Collaborate closely with specialty departments to ensure seamless patient careÂ
- Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and compassionate nursing care throughout hospitalization
What We’re Looking For
· Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT required)
· Strong anesthesia skills and experience with advanced monitoring
· Ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity situations
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Willingness to learn and grow in a highly specialized department
Experience in specialty or emergency medicine is preferred but not required for the right candidate with a strong foundation.
Pay Rate: Starting at $26.00/hr
