WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a New & Used Truck Sales Manager, you’ll lead the daily operations of the Truck Sales Department, driving profitability, managing inventory, and developing a high-performing sales team. You will:

➤ Forecast and manage monthly and annual sales, gross profit, and expense goals
➤ Prepare and oversee departmental budgets and evaluate performance against targets
➤ Develop and execute sales, merchandising, and incentive programs to drive revenue and move inventory
➤ Monitor gross profit, F&I penetration, and ensure full customer turnover to F&I
➤ Hire, train, coach, and develop sales staff while conducting regular meetings and ride-alongs
➤ Support sales team in setting goals, closing deals, and achieving performance targets
➤ Oversee prospecting strategies, CRM utilization, and ensure consistent customer follow-up
➤ Maintain high standards for customer experience, delivery process, and dealership presentation
➤ Handle escalated customer concerns and work to enhance satisfaction and retention
➤ Manage new and used truck inventory including ordering, pricing, appraisals, and reconditioning
➤ Monitor market trends, lost sales, and demand to guide inventory decisions
➤ Oversee advertising and merchandising efforts, ensuring effective promotion and ROI
➤ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and dealership policies
➤ Promote and enforce all safety policies and conduct safety training and inspections as required
➤ Communicate regularly with the General Manager and attend leadership meetings

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise 6-12 employees in the New Truck Sales Personnel.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


WHAT YOU BRING

◆ Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and relevant sales management experience. Proven experience in sales leadership, inventory management, and customer relationship management within a dealership or related industry.

◆ Certificates & Licenses:
  State Sales License required
  Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required; must meet company insurability standards
  Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability standards

◆ Physical Requirements: Frequent walking; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
