The Senior Manager Data & AI Product – Field and Grid will lead the vision, development, and management of AI‑enabled digital platform solutions that support field operations, transmission & distribution (T&D), grid reliability, asset management, and safety. As part of the Data & AI organization, this role plays a critical role in embedding intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics into field and grid platforms to improve operational efficiency, reliability, resiliency, and workforce effectiveness.

 

The Data & AI Product Manager partners closely with operations, engineering, grid modernization, and field workforce teams, along with data scientists, GenAI specialists, ML engineers, designers, and technology partners, to deliver high‑impact, data‑driven solutions. This role is responsible for shaping AI‑driven product strategies, overseeing execution, and ensuring that field and grid platform investments deliver measurable operational and safety outcomes.

 


Responsibilities

  • Sets and owns the long‑term vision and strategy for field and grid platforms (e.g., T&D operations, asset management, grid analytics, field mobility) in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and Grid stakeholders.
  • Defines the mission, goals, OKRs, KPIs, and charter for assigned field and grid platforms to align with grid modernization, reliability, safety, and operational excellence initiatives. 
  • Communicates platform vision and roadmap clearly to operations leadership, field organizations, and technology partners to ensure alignment and transparency. 
  • Manages the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for field and grid platforms using human‑centered and operator‑centric design in an agile, matrixed environment.
  • Uses qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize initiatives that improve outage response, asset performance, grid reliability, safety, and field productivity.
  • Collaborates closely with UX designers, data scientists, and operations partners to ensure solutions are intuitive, usable in field conditions, and operationally practical.
  • Manages and mentors platform analysts and cross‑functional contributors, fostering accountability, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
  • Owns and maintains the product roadmap for field and grid platforms, balancing near‑term operational needs with long‑term scalability and modernization goals.
  • Leads platform intake, demand management, and governance processes in collaboration with portfolio leaders and field business owners.
  • Performs analysis on technical, operational, and grid considerations to enhance or differentiate field and grid digital capabilities.
  • Evaluates platform value and performance to inform investment, sustainment, or retirement decisions based on operational impact and ROI.
  • Acts as the voice of field and grid platforms in senior leadership forums, clearly articulating priorities, risks, and delivered outcomes.
  • Leads or participates in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Partners with GenAI and Data Science teams to embed intelligent capabilities into field and grid platforms and report measurable outcomes.
  • Performs cost-benefit analysis and recommends plans of action based on business impact and efficiency gains.
  • Works independently on complex field and grid platforms with minimal supervision, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • May be assigned an emergency and storm role as needed during company-wide events or disruptions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.  

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise IT, digital product management, or platform development, with a focus on enterprise systems, field operations, grid systems, or operational technology environments.
  • 5+ years leading cross‑functional initiatives involving operations, engineering, or field organizations. 
  • Understanding of electric utility field and grid domains, including transmission, distribution, asset management, outage management, or field workforce operations.
  • Experience with Agile product management and platform strategy in complex, regulated, or operationally critical environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable operational impact through data‑, analytics‑, and AI‑enabled solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with field and grid platforms such as OMS, ADMS, GIS, EAM, field mobility, SCADA, or related operational systems.
  • Knowledge of applied analytics, AI, or GenAI use cases in grid reliability, predictive maintenance, safety, or field optimization.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to partner effectively with operations leaders and senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage complexity, prioritize strategically, and drive alignment across technology and field organizations.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and delivering results in fast‑paced, operationally critical environments.
