Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional with 3–5 years of public accounting experience and a strong background in business and individual taxation.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing tax engagements independently, communicating directly with clients, and collaborating with partners and team members in a remote environment. This role offers significant flexibility while providing exposure to complex tax engagements, planning opportunities, and long-term client relationships.

Highly experienced candidates may qualify for a fully remote arrangement, while candidates who would benefit from additional training and mentorship should be available for occasional travel to the Allentown, Pennsylvania office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.

  • Prepare complex individual income tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Conduct tax research and assist with year-round tax planning strategies.

  • Communicate directly with clients through phone, video meetings, and email to gather information, answer questions, and provide tax guidance.

  • Collaborate with partners on tax planning, advisory, and consulting engagements.

  • Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and provide practical recommendations based on client circumstances.

  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.

  • Assist with special tax projects, consulting engagements, and other advisory initiatives.

  • Manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines in a remote work environment.

  • Stay current on changes to tax laws, regulations, and relevant industry developments.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax.

  • Hands-on experience preparing business entity tax returns, including corporations, S corporations, and partnerships.

  • Experience preparing complex individual income tax returns.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to independently manage tax engagements, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.

  • CPA license preferred but not required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.

  • Must reside within the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

  • Candidates with extensive experience may work fully remotely; candidates requiring additional training or development should be available for occasional travel to the Allentown, Pennsylvania office.
