Looking for a hands-on, active summer job where you’ll be part of a fun and unique attraction? As a Seasonal Carhenge Summer Labor Worker, you’ll help keep Carhenge and the Pit Stop Gift Store running smoothly while providing excellent customer service to visitors.
This position combines clerical, customer service, and maintenance responsibilities, including assisting with daily operations, maintaining the facility and grounds, and supporting gift store operations. You’ll help ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors, while gaining experience with a variety of tasks and equipment.
Work schedules are flexible and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, offering a dynamic and rewarding seasonal opportunity.
Requirements
We’re looking for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who enjoy physical work, customer interaction, and being part of a small team in a unique outdoor setting.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be at least 18 years of age to operate equipmentÂ
- Be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditionsÂ
- Be able to perform physical labor, including lifting, mowing, weeding, sweeping, and general grounds maintenanceÂ
- Be able to work independently or as part of a teamÂ
- Communicate clearly and courteously with supervisors, coworkers, and the publicÂ
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Ability to read and follow instructions involving multiple tasksÂ
- Ability to follow established routines, policies, and safety proceduresÂ
- Ability to greet and assist visitors pleasantly and professionallyÂ
- Willingness to assume responsibility and take pride in quality workÂ
Typical duties may include (but are not limited to):
- Operating cash registers, handling admissions, and maintaining gift store displaysÂ
- Performing routine maintenance and custodial work, including cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, and other facilitiesÂ
- Maintaining grounds and landscaped areas, including mowing, trimming, and weedingÂ
- Assisting with setup and teardown for programs or eventsÂ
- Inspecting and maintaining tools, equipment, and facility featuresÂ
- Collecting and disposing of litter and solid waste from buildings and groundsÂ
- Painting, repairing, and performing minor carpentry or maintenance tasks as requestedÂ
Tools and Equipment Used:
Motorized vehicles and equipment, lawn and landscaping equipment (including mowers and weed trimmers), electric motors, hand and power tools for turf maintenance, carpentry, painting, and janitorial equipment (washers, vacuums, mops, brooms, dusting equipment), telephone, calculator, cash register, and personal computer
