Looking for a hands-on job where you can stay active, work outdoors, and play an important role in keeping the community clean and safe? As a Seasonal Landfill Worker, you’ll assist with the daily operations of the City landfill and help ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility.
In this role, you’ll support full-time landfill staff by directing customers to proper disposal areas, maintaining cleanliness around the site, performing general grounds maintenance, and assisting with waste management operations. Duties may include litter control, compacting and covering refuse, operating basic equipment, maintaining signs and barriers, and monitoring landfill areas for safety and compliance.
You’ll work outdoors in all types of weather and be part of a team that takes pride in environmental responsibility and public service. This position may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on landfill hours and operational needs.Â

Requirements
We’re seeking dependable, safety-conscious individuals who enjoy physical work, are comfortable working outdoors, and take pride in keeping facilities clean and organized.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be comfortable working around heavy equipment, waste materials, and public traffic
- Be able to perform physical labor such as lifting, raking, shoveling, bending, and standing for extended periodsÂ
- Be attentive to safety procedures and willing to follow landfill rules and regulationsÂ
- Be able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environmentÂ
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers, supervisors, and the publicÂ
Helpful skills (training provided):
- Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in landfill or grounds maintenance operationsÂ
- Ability and willingness to safely operate hand tools, small equipment, and City vehiclesÂ
- Awareness of workplace safety practices and first aid principlesÂ
Special Requirements:
- Valid state driver’s license requiredÂ
- CDL preferred, but not required
