Role Overview


The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely invoicing while supporting billing operations across the organization. This role partners with internal teams and customers to resolve billing inquiries, maintain data accuracy, and ensure invoices align with contractual terms. The Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting financial accuracy, customer satisfaction, and efficient billing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate, review, and distribute invoices accurately and on time, ensuring alignment with contracts, pricing, and billing requirements
  • Ensure invoices are delivered accurately and on time to support revenue recognition and customer satisfaction.
  • Review contracts and billing inputs to ensure accurate setup of customer accounts and billing schedules
  • Validate billing data, usage, and pricing to ensure accuracy prior to invoice generation
  • Respond to customer billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure a timely and positive customer experience
  • Investigate and resolve billing issues by partnering with internal teams such as Sales, Finance, and Customer Success
  •  Maintain accurate billing records, documentation, and audit trails to support reporting and compliance requirements
  • Support month-end billing processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of invoicing
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance billing accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
  • Maintain working knowledge of billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce) and use data to identify and prevent recurring issues


Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or finance operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience working with financial or billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage high-volume transactions
  • Ability to review and interpret contracts, pricing, and billing requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data
