Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue cycle management and medical terminology, as well as proficiency in coding and accounts payable. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective communication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process and manage billing transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
• Handle accounts payable functions, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.
• Utilize ICD-10 coding to ensure proper billing for medical services rendered.
• Communicate effectively with clients via phone to address billing inquiries and provide support.
• Maintain organized records of all billing activities and documentation.
• Collaborate with the finance team to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in revenue cycle management practices and medical terminology. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Proven experience in billing or related financial services roles.
• Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management principles.
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology is preferred.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Understanding of accounts payable processes.
• Knowledge of corporate accounting practices is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25lbs 
• Sitting/Standing for long periods of time
• Using computer screen for at least 8 hours/daily
