Position Summary

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities

  • Be able to set up and monitor registration system.
  • Be able to read, monitor and make necessary changes to the View.
  • Setup and program the required information for the RTM.
  • Know how to use and operate the LVS system.
  • Be able to read and understand the Run Card and Ink Matrix information.
  • Understand the Anilox specifications and care.
  • Monitor the temperature of all dryers.
  • Monitor the speed of the press.
  • Make the workstation assignments for the Assistant Press Operator and the Press Ink Technician and monitor the work performance of these positions.
  • Collect all reports.
  • Maintain the quality of the tickets, both the print and color.
  • Ensure the proper training of all the Assistants and Press Ink Technicians on your shift.
  • Work closely with the Image Room.
  • Coordinate production communication of the shift's press crew.
  • Understanding of the printing materials, i.e., Plates, cylinders, ink, and paper.
  • Know the web path throughout press.
  • Working knowledge of web alignment.
  • Be able to trouble shoot.
  • Understanding of the mechanics on the press.
  • Understanding of the Security Lab test.
  • Be able to read and understand the Working Papers.
  • Know the location of the customer’s profile.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping duties.
  • Working knowledge of the tension controls.
  • Working knowledge of perf set up and adjustments.
  • Ensure samples from each pool checked.
  • Ensure waste percentage on RTM tags are correct.
  • Ensure the viscosity and pH checks are correctly taken.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

  • Must have strong flexographic print press experience.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Able to get along with other people.
  • Good, clear verbal and written communication skills to coordinate the Press Operation.
  • Physically agile.
  • The ability to push/pull 500 plus pounds.
  • Able to lift 75 lbs
  • A mechanical and technical aptitude.
