Join Our Team as a Geologist / Project Manager!

At Atlantic Coast Consulting, Inc. (ACC), we’re driven by one core belief: everyone deserves a clean environment. Every day, our scientists, engineers, designers, and technicians work together to help clients protect the planet while maximizing their resources. To take that mission even further, we’re looking for a Geologist / Project Manager — a technically strong, business-minded leader ready to make an impact and grow with us.

ACC is a certified Great Place to Work® and a veteran-owned firm specializing in solid waste and environmental consulting. We design, permit, and manage complex environmental projects while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork, learning, and service.

If you have 10+ years of experience, thrive on solving technical challenges, love working with great people, and want to join a company that values innovation and balance, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Projects That Matter: Take full technical responsibility for environmental projects — from concept through completion — within regulatory frameworks.
  • Tackle Complex Challenges: Plan and develop projects focused on coal combustion residuals (CCR), solid/hazardous waste, groundwater, and more.
  • Be the Go-To Expert: Serve as a liaison between clients, engineers, and geologists, providing trusted technical leadership and strategic insight.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with technicians, scientists, CAD designers, and clients to solve unique environmental challenges.
  • Drive Business Growth: Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules; lead client meetings; and identify/market new opportunities with current and future clients; and represent ACC through active participation in industry conferences and professional organizations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or related field (required)
    • Master’s degree encouraged
    • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) in the state of practice
  • Experience & Expertise:
    • 10+ years in environmental consulting, with experience in site characterization, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and corrective action programs
    • Strong background with GA EPD Rule 391-3-4 and EPA CCR Rule 40 CFR Part 257
    • Skilled in hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, and data interpretation
    • Proficiency in CAD, GIS, MODFLOW, or similar tools
    • Excellent technical writing, project management, and communication skills
  • Traits That Set You Apart:
    • Confident leader and team motivator
    • Analytical thinker with a strategic mindset
    • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Member of professional organizations (SWANA, NWRA, NGWA, etc.)
    • OSHA / HAZWOPER 40-hour certification
    • Clean driving record

Work Environment & Travel

This role involves a mix of office and field work (landfills, industrial sites, undeveloped properties). Occasional travel within the U.S. (up to 10%) may be required. Must be comfortable with changing outdoor conditions and physically capable of fieldwork activities.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Aggressive starting salary plus bonus opportunities
  • Comprehensive Benefits:
    • Fully paid employee health insurance
    • 401(k) with company match
    • Short- and long-term disability (100% company-paid)
    • Life insurance (100% company-paid)
  • Generous Time Off: 4–6 weeks of PTO + paid parental leave
  • Ownership Opportunities: Company stock ownership program
  • Professional Growth: Ongoing training and career development
  • Awesome Culture: Monthly birthday lunches, annual party, volunteer days, and more
  • Proudly Veteran-Owned: Join a team built on service, integrity, and excellence
