We're looking for a Senior Director, Commercial Strategy, AI for our office in Alpharetta, GA. The position is full-time. You'll join an awesome team to support our growing customer base.
Â
About the Role
As Senior Director, Commercial Strategy, you'll own the commercial path from Aptean's AI strategy to customer value. That means taking our AI-powered products and services and building the plan that moves them from concept to customer adoption and usage: packaging, go-to-market motions, sales enablement, and the cross-functional coordination it takes to actually launch and scale value for customers, not just present it to steering committees. You'll report to the Senior Vice President of Strategy and sit at the center of decisions that touch Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance.
This is a strategic program management role first. You'll run the machinery that keeps AI initiatives moving toward commercial launch: setting milestones, clearing blockers, and holding cross-functional teams accountable for follow-through. You'll build the business case that makes the value of an AI-powered offering obvious, and you'll be the person in the room who can influence Sales, Product, and Marketing leaders to act in concert on packaging and go-to-market decisions, even when you don't own their teams.
You'll be judged less by the strategy deck and more by what happens after it: whether an AI-powered offering actually reaches customers, gets adopted, and turns into realized revenue rather than a shelved initiative.
Â
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commercialization of AI-powered products and services from concept through launch, partnering across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to drive adoption, usage, retention, and revenue realization.
- Run strategic program management for cross-functional AI initiatives: setting milestones, tracking dependencies, resolving roadblocks, and driving teams to follow through from concept to commercial launch.
- Build the business case for AI-driven strategic bets, giving executives a clear, credible view of the customer value and revenue at stake.
- Influence and align Sales, Marketing, Product, and Finance leadership around a shared plan for packaging, launching, and scaling AI capabilities in the market, even where you have no direct authority over their teams.
- Own pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions that determine whether an AI-powered offering actually lands with customers and drives adoption.
- Partner with Product and Sales to turn strategic investments in AI into concrete customer outcomes, tracking progress from launch through scaled adoption.
- Build and present commercial narratives and executive-ready materials that connect strategy, market context, and customer value to a clear call to action.
- Own cross-functional strategic initiatives end to end, ensuring that plans made in a strategy meeting show up as commercial results in the field.
Â
What we’re looking for:
You're a strategic operator, not just a strategic thinker. You know that a good plan means nothing if it dies in committee, so you build the program structure, the relationships, and the business case that gets a strategy actually executed. You're comfortable being the connective tissue across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Finance, and you know how to get people who don't report to you to move in the same direction.
You're genuinely energized by what AI can do commercially, not just technically. You think in terms of customer adoption, packaging, and revenue realization as much as capability. You know the job is done when an offering has launched, is being used, and is generating value, not when the strategy deck is polished.
Â
What you'll bring:
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
- A track record of leadership in commercial strategy, product strategy, go-to-market strategy, or consulting, with real experience moving a strategic initiative from plan to market.
- Strong analytical and modeling capabilities, with the ability to assess the commercial impact of strategic initiatives, translate complex data into actionable insights, and guide decision-making through clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong program and project management skills, with experience running complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple executive stakeholders.
- Experience building the business case for a new offering or strategic investment, and using it to influence decisions and secure buy-in.
- A demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners without direct authority, and to keep initiatives moving when priorities compete.
- Strong Excel skills and general business acumen.
Â
To be ahead of the pack you might have:
- Experience commercializing AI, machine learning, or other emerging technology, including packaging and go-to-market decisions for AI-powered products or services.
- Familiarity with SaaS, XaaS, or usage-based business models and their commercial launch and scaling motions.
- Experience working directly with product or engineering teams to shape how an AI-powered offering gets packaged, launched, and sold.
- Salesforce experience.
