Job Summary: As a Specialty Baker, you'll be the artistic force behind our grocery store's bakery, specializing in crafting unique and delectable treats. Your creativity and expertise will shine as you bring innovative flavors and designs to our customers, setting our bakery apart. Examples of Duties:

• Create and bake a variety of specialty treats, including but not limited to custom cakes, pastries, and unique desserts.
• Develop and experiment with new recipes, flavors, and artistic designs to keep the bakery offerings fresh and exciting.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their unique requests and provide personalized bakery solutions.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality and presentation for all specialty baked goods.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in specialty baking.
• Assist in the general bakery operations as needed, including production, customer service, and cleanliness.

Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of specialty baking techniques, including cake decorating, pastry creation, and unique dessert preparation.
• Familiarity with a wide range of ingredients and their applications in specialty baking.
• Awareness of industry trends and innovations in specialty baked goods.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.

Skills:

• Exceptional artistic and creative skills in designing and decorating specialty baked goods.
• Proficiency in baking techniques specific to specialty items.
• Effective communication skills, especially in understanding and fulfilling customer requests.
• Attention to detail in both presentation and flavor.

Abilities:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
• Adaptability to learn and operate specialty bakery equipment.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to providing a positive shopping experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Specialty Baker or similar role is beneficial.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating and decorating specialty baked goods.
• Familiarity with inventory management and ordering systems in a bakery setting.
• Passion for exploring and experimenting with new flavors and designs.
