Job Summary

The Infrastructure Administrator III serves as a senior technical resource for the organization’s infrastructure environment. This role leads advanced administration, infrastructure design, complex troubleshooting, hybrid cloud support, network architecture support, Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Azure and identity governance, configuration standards, lifecycle planning, disaster recovery, security hardening, and infrastructure project leadership. This position is intended for a senior infrastructure professional who can independently lead complex initiatives, resolve high-impact technical issues, make senior-level technical recommendations, mentor lower-level staff, and help guide the organization’s transition from primarily on-premises infrastructure to a stable hybrid infrastructure model. The role supports a casino environment where availability, security, compliance, careful change planning, vendor coordination, and rapid incident response are critical.

Job Description

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

  • Lead administration, engineering, optimization, and lifecycle management of on-premises and cloud-connected infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, storage, backups, networking, identity, Microsoft 365, Azure, monitoring, and core IT services.
  • Implement and improve infrastructure standards for reliability, security, performance, capacity, manageability, disaster recovery, operational consistency, and business continuity.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents involving servers, networks, storage, virtualization, backups, identity, Microsoft 365, Azure, authentication, performance, availability, or security controls.
  • Lead advanced Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing strategy, security configuration, retention support, collaboration standards, and service health response.
  • Lead advanced Azure and Microsoft Entra ID support, including hybrid identity, MFA, conditional access, enterprise application access, synchronization health, privileged access practices, device identity, tenant configuration support, and cloud security coordination.
  • Lead advanced networking support involving routing, switching, VLAN design, firewall coordination, VPN architecture, wireless infrastructure, network segmentation, resiliency, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Lead advanced systems support involving Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory architecture, Group Policy design, DNS/DHCP strategy, certificate services, file services, virtualization, storage, and backup architecture.
  • Own complex infrastructure projects end to end, including discovery, scope definition, technical design, risk analysis, business impact review, implementation planning, stakeholder communication, testing, rollback planning, documentation, and operational handoff.
  • Support casino operations by designing reliable infrastructure for 24/7 uptime, minimizing risk during changes, coordinating maintenance windows, and ensuring rapid response to business-impacting incidents.
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines, build standards, hardening guides, naming conventions, documentation standards, patching practices, monitoring standards, and operational runbooks.
  • Evaluate capacity, performance trends, asset lifecycle needs, cloud adoption opportunities, licensing impacts, security risks, technical debt, and future infrastructure requirements.
  • Mentor Infrastructure Administrator I and II team members through technical guidance, peer review, troubleshooting support, documentation review, and standards enforcement.
  • Partner with security teams to support vulnerability remediation, privileged access controls, logging, monitoring, backup integrity, hardening, incident response, and compliance efforts.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, recovery testing, business continuity planning, and infrastructure resilience improvements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, managed service providers, gaming system vendors, surveillance vendors, facilities teams, procurement, management, and business stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement automation, scripting, monitoring, and process improvements to reduce manual effort and increase operational consistency.
  • Work within defined response windows and elevate incidents within established timeframes.
  • Maintain a high level of team member satisfaction through clear communication, professionalism, technical ownership, and customer service.
  • Work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Operate with limited supervision while demonstrating full proficiency and senior-level judgment within the discipline.
  • Support a 24/7, 365-day operation and maintain flexibility to work day, swing, graveyard, weekend, holiday, maintenance window, and on-call assignments as needed based on business needs. Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
  • Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION

  • Does not provide direct supervision unless assigned; may provide technical guidance, mentoring, peer review, and work direction to Infrastructure Administrator I, Infrastructure Administrator II, help desk, or other technical team members.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, technical school coursework, bachelor’s degree, advanced IT certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office 365 Administrator, Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA Linux+, Juniper mid-level certification, VMware or Nutanix mid-level certification, or equivalent certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 6+ years of systems administration, network administration, infrastructure operations, systems engineering, or related IT experience.
  • Must have advanced hands-on experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, Windows File Clustering, Active Directory, networking, Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Azure / Microsoft Entra ID, virtualization, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Experience leading infrastructure projects, system upgrades, migrations, network changes, Microsoft 365 improvements, Azure or identity initiatives, disaster recovery efforts, or security remediation initiatives required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, SQL Server, Windows File Clustering, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, permissions, identity architecture, and enterprise infrastructure administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, segmentation, resiliency, troubleshooting methodology, and network design principles.
  • Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 / Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, service health, security settings, and collaboration platforms.
  • Strong experience with Azure or Microsoft Entra ID administration, including MFA, conditional access, hybrid identity, enterprise applications, device identity, synchronization, and cloud identity troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience with virtualization, storage, backups, monitoring, patch management, endpoint management, disaster recovery, and infrastructure security controls.
  • Ability to lead complex troubleshooting across servers, networks, storage, virtualization, identity, Microsoft 365, Azure, business applications, and vendor-supported systems.
  • Ability to design infrastructure solutions that balance uptime, security, cost, operational complexity, casino business requirements, compliance needs, and long-term maintainability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure projects with formal planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination, technical implementation, testing, rollback planning, documentation, and handoff.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and enforce technical standards, configuration baselines, operating procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Strong mentoring, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to explain technical risks, tradeoffs, recommendations, and project status to IT leadership, business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or configuration management using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Microsoft Graph PowerShell, Azure PowerShell, or similar technologies preferred.
