Job Summary
The Slot Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all slot related equipment including slot machines and components, on floor slot monitoring systems, on floor ticket printer accounting systems, slot signage and progressive controllers, and other equipment as assigned. The Slot Technician I makes timely and efficient repairs when a Slot Floor Person cannot complete a repair and when malfunctions are discovered. Regular duties include testing, troubleshooting, parts adjustments or replacement, clearing coin, currency, and ticket jams, game "optioning", installation of new equipment and preventive maintenance (cleaning, lubricating and adjusting components as appropriate). The Slot Technician I assists all Slot Floor Persons in providing fast courteous friendly and helpful service to all guests and trains other team members on the proper operation and repair of equipment. • Repairs and performs preventive maintenance on slot machines, slot accounting/player tracking equipment, slot signage, progressive controllers and displays, bill validators and replacement or repair of wires, cables, and fiber optics • Installs, programs, troubleshoots, and configures slot machines of various manufacturers • Thoroughly and accurately documents all repairs made • Provides training to other team members • Promotes teamwork within the Slot Operations department and with all other departments • Troubleshoot network / communications equipment such as managed switches and progressive equipment. • Reads and interprets all available technical manuals and schematics • Contributes to technical documents, as needed. • Stays current with advancing slot related technologies • Maintains security of keys and safeguards company assets • Adheres to all laws, local state and federal regulations, policies and procedures, and standard operating procedures; reports violations to the appropriate authority, typically a supervisor within the department • Maintains current knowledge of casino related equipment, support equipment, new games, systems, and modifications to existing equipment • Takes initiative to resolve issues and escalates, as necessary • Attends all scheduled team member meetings and trainings • Maintains knowledge of company services and players’ club program • Adheres to all hygiene and safety standards; ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained • Performs other assignments as required • Does not provide supervision to others. • Must be 21 years or older. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Documented electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical training and experience preferred • 2 or more years of electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical repair/maintenance or a combination of education and experience • Preference given to applicants with: 1. Slot technical experience 2. Slot operations experience 3. Arcade / amusement technician, Information technology, automotive technician, fiber optics and / or other technical background / experience • Use of hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment • Demonstrated strength of teamwork, interpersonal relations/guest service skills • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Strong organizational skills. • Multi-tasking and attention to detail • Strong problem-solving skills • Must be a self-starter with the ability to adapt to change • Ability to work various shifts, days, nights, or weekendsHiring Preference
